Many people in the health world believe that every physical health problem is because of a physical issue. What I have discovered with my own health issues and in the lives of hundreds of other people that I’ve worked with, is that many of the physical issues that people have are actually caused by an emotional root.
Finding a physical reason is more simple and less complicated than having to take a look at your life and take responsibility for your emotions. People would rather do a million other things first before looking inward such as finding the next supplement, starting a new diet, working out, getting some service performed by a healthcare professional, getting a new essential oil, etc.
Many people’s health issues start right after going through a painful, traumatic or negative experience or series of experiences. As time goes on, people tend to believe in the adage that “time heals all wounds.” I have found this not to be true, especially when it comes to deeper health issues. An incredible book that is heavy on the medical side but is supported 100% with science is called The Body Keeps The Score by Dr. Bessel Vander Kolk, MD.
So many times these negative emotions that people are holding onto inside their system manifests in a part of the body or in a certain kind of health condition. When these issues are identified and tools such as tapping or The Sedona Method are used to release the emotions in the system that’s associated with the issue, oftentimes the physical issue disappears. This is the heart of mind/body medicine.
The tool that I use in the clinic to discover what might exist for people as the emotional basis of their health issues is something called The Secret Language of Your Body.
It is a reference book, and I have used it innumerable times to help people understand why they might be dealing with something. This book is so insightful, and I use it almost every day in the clinic. Below are some of the consciousness or negative emotions which drive certain health conditions. Some of these might resonate with you and some might not.
Additionally, well one person’s health issues may be principally emotional in nature, someone else’s maybe simply physical in nature. I see every health issue as a physical, energetic, emotional, and spiritual issue. It is just determining how much of each one of these categories is actually contributing to the problem.
Depression—Pressure to survive. Feeling overwhelmed, hopeless, disappointed, and disillusioned. Wanting someone to save you. Suppressed anger and resentment. Feeling and acting like a victim. Blaming others for what is not working in your life. Feeling unmotivated and uninspired. Can’t be bothered to do anything. Stuck in an old story that’s only getting gloomier.
Eczema—Feeling unaccepted, needing to hide and suppress your feelings. Aggravated by your experiences with others. Erupting with anger when you don’t get your way. Holding your breath. Experiencing a sense of stagnation.
Fatigue—Stress, resistance, struggle, limitation. Fighting to get things done. Overworking and pushing yourself beyond your limit. Bored and frustrated with your life. Drained by your commitments.
Headache—Stress, tiredness, seriousness, too much going on. Feeling out of control, overwhelmed, overcrowded, frustrated, undermined. Self-criticism, self-sabotage, invalidation of self, judgment of self and others. Too much thinking and analysis.
Premenstrual Syndrome (PMS)—Anger, confusion, anxiety, fear, self-doubt. Holding back ideas because you believe they will be rejected. Not being listened to. Frustrated, impatient, annoyed. Feeling trapped, unsafe, blocked, disrespected, unhappy. Holding on to past hurts from men. Feeling inferior. Denying your feminine energy. Wanting to be more masculine, to which you attribute strength and power.
Insomnia (long-term)—Inability to relax. Feeling unsafe and unable to let go. Worrying, playing things over in your mind, dissecting situations. Feeling scattered, fearful, anxious, on guard. Harboring feelings of guilt and resentment.
I have seen hundreds and hundreds of physical issues disappear when people use this book to understand the heart of the problem and something like The Sedona Method or tapping to release it. If you want to have a book that you can continually reference to help you understand why it is that you’re having health issues from an emotional perspective, I highly recommend The Secret Language of Your Body.
Identify the originating memory that is attached to when the problem began and release and let go of the emotions that are in that memory or experience. Other experiences from our past can contribute as well, with things stretching back as far as childhood. A context exists for many of our health issues. These tools can help you get to the bottom of them. This is the deepest and most meaningful work that I’ve ever done with my patients in the clinic and I would encourage you to explore this book and those tools for yourself.
