Acupuncture and Natural Healing for Lower Back Pain and Sciatica
When I was living in Costa Rica at the age of 29, I had a serious case of lower back pain. It interrupted my sleep, energy levels, functionality in life and overall quality of life. I tried many things to fix it including medications, physical therapy exercises, changes in diet, changing mattresses, chiropractic, supplements, and acupuncture. Some of these things were very helpful, but I never quite felt that I got to the root core of the issue until just a few years ago. In the three distinct time periods that I remember having lower back pain, I realized the pain occurred immediately following intense emotional experiences that I went through. I never connected the dots together until I became an acupuncture physician and saw that intense emotional experiences could literally be the cause of why I was having the pain. I learned that the body may manifest pain in a very particular part of the body related to the consciousness or emotional factors that correspond to that part of the body. This is not something you will learn going to a regular medical doctor, but this is shifting in the world today.
After having discovered this and using emotional releasing techniques, combined with some of the things I described above, I finally was able to heal the lower back pain. What a relief! Lower back pain is the single leading cause of disability worldwide. More than 31 million Americans experience back pain at any given moment (1). $50 billion dollars is spent on this issue every year (2). It is also the number one health complaint that people miss work for.
- Do you have persistent lower back pain or sciatica and have felt like you have never gotten to the root cause of the problem?
- Have you thought that the medication or pain killers you take are just covering up or masking the real root cause?
- Would you like to discover the true physical, energetic and emotional reasons why this may be an issue for you and use proven treatments that will work to heal your lower back pain?
Physical Healing for Lower Back Pain and Sciatica
Traditional Chinese medicine is a holistic natural approach to healthcare that takes into account the whole person including the physical, energetic/electrical and emotional factors that may contribute to a health problem. Some of the more common physical causes of lower back through the ages in Chinese medicine have been attributed to excessive physical work and overuse, excessive sexual activity, pregnancy and childbirth, inadequate exercise, and poor diet. In modern times, I have become convinced that lower back pain and sciatica is largely due to chronic viral or bacterial infections in the kidneys, which also inflame nerves in the lower spine. The accumulation of heavy metals and chemicals in the body feed these bugs and also inhibit the immune system from being able to deal with them. Therefore, it is critical to cleanse the body of heavy metals and chemicals through very specific means. Clinically, you will learn about how to strengthen the immune system, safely and gently remove metals and chemical from your body and what dietary changes are necessary to not feed pathogens (the source of chronic inflammation).
Energetic or Electrical Healing for Lower Back Pain and Sciatica
Many people think acupuncture is some weird unscientific thing. It is very scientific and only recent discoveries in embryology can explain how the acupuncture system works. Qi is one of the ways the Chinese refer to electricity in the body. If your heart stops beating, you get shocked. The reason why is because the body is filled with electricity. If electrical flow to a part of the body or organ is inhibited or not at full capacity, it will not function as well, resulting in pain and inflammation. Acupuncture stimulates and regulates the flow of electricity in the body. When electricity increases to a part of the body, it functions better. If electrical flow has been inhibited for many years, it will take a series of treatments to start functioning better. Vegetables and fruits are filled with electrolytes which give the body the necessary raw materials to help electricity conduct better. This is why acupuncture is so amazing for lower back pain and sciatica.
Emotional Healing for Lower Back Pain and Sciatica
As mentioned above, the lower back has consciousness factors that affect it. More specifically, the reason a problem may manifest in a certain part of the body is because of the emotional factors associated with it. The back is the body’s support system and if you are feeling afraid that life will not support you in some way, you may feel things in the lower back. Financial worries and fears are a very common part of this, which is why people had record numbers of lower back pain in 2008 when the economy took a downturn and many lost their jobs. Here are the ideas associated with lower back pain and sciatica:
“Feeling insecure about how you will support yourself financially. Constant worry about your survival and how you are going to pay the bills. Holding on to unresolved anger from childhood. Feeling like a victim. Struggling, suffering, controlling. Focused on limitations and negativity, and why you can’t do things instead of how you can.” (Inna Segal – The Secret Language of Your Body)
By learning how to release emotions from the body, I have seen hundreds of people feel better very quickly from all kinds of different ailments. We are conditioned with Western medicine to believe that everything is physical and a pill should solve our problems. But this rarely solves the root problem of inflammation, electrical imbalance or the emotions that may be present in our experience. Good health often takes great effort and great honestly about our internal emotional states, but healing is what we are born to be able to experience.
