Blessed day.
Have you watched the thrilling show A Handmaid’s Tale?
In which case, you will definitely get the “blessed day” reference.
It is by far the most riveting show I think I have ever seen. It is a dystopia where in the future birth rates have plummeted by 99% due to the poor food quality and toxins in the environment.
Is this far-fetched or could it happen?
It is estimated that by 2050, 40% of those in the USA could be completely infertile.
The U.S. birth rate fell by 4% in 2020, double the average yearly decline since 2014, according to data from the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics.
The more wealthy a country, the more birth rates are falling for many reasons, some based largely on choice and others by poor health factors.
We can’t attribute this just to females, it is completely shared by both sexes.
One study in 2017 found that sperm counts in the west had plummeted by 59% between 1973 and 2011. 60% less swimmers for the average male in 40 years! It’s probably worse now, 10 years later.
Factors based on choice may include the growing desire to delay motherhood to financial stressors such as economic uncertainty and overwhelming student debt, job instability and limited access to health insurance. Better access to birth control is another factor. The pandemic has made this worse as well because everyone’s financial status has taken a direct or indirect hit.
Other factors that have significantly contributed to the declining fertility rate include the following things:
- Irregular menstrual cycles (excessive bleeding, cramping/pain, lower back pain, breast tenderness, skipping months, irregular timing, clots in the blood)
- Age – many woman are waiting to try to get pregnant.
- Thyroid dysfunction
- Obesity
- Chronic disease
- Cancer
- History of STI’s
- Smoking
- Alcohol
- Poor diet (wheat, sugar, dairy, gmo food, non-organic food, fried food, artificial sweeteners, coffee, pork)
- Lack of exercise
- Stress
- Exposure and accumulation of toxic metals and chemicals
This is why it is so critical for all of us to be as healthy as possible. What is life without our health?
Make your health your #1 priority!
I have been so honored to have helped many infertile women heal their body so that they were able to give birth naturally.
Start making changes with small things. Get some small but real victories under your belt and continue to transform your health from there.
There is almost no better way to transform your health than to set goals and have accountability. Accountability is the driver that can make this happen.
Have a great day!
